Patient Health Data, Information Governance and Patient Care

Verizon (map)

Due to how Meetup.com works, I can't unschedule this event.  I don't want to delete it since it is a great idea that we will execute on, just need a venue and a few speakers.  So I set the date for Christmas as a place holder for now.  When we get back from San Francisco we will set this up properly at a venue large enough to hold us.

Thank you for being members of Health 2.0 NYC and supporting and suggesting great events like this one!

If you have suggested speakers, would like to sponsor an event, want to help run our events or a venue, please feel free to contact me.

Be Well,

Alex Fair

How to find the balance between information availability to healthcare professionals and patients, and maintain a high level of security? Who should be allowed to access patient data, and how patient data can be used to improve population health? How to achieve data sharing between organizations so it would improve patient care and act in their best interests?

Any chance we can get Esther Dyson back as a speaker? She had a few points about this that may talk about how some of her companies are using patient health data now!

Actually, it would be great having Esther as a speaker so to give us some insights on her "quantified self" expression! I would really like to see Gilles Frydman and e-patient Dave as the speakers. I do believe it could be an excellent panel and a great topic to discuss.

We at Universal EHR Solutions would be happy to provide our insight on how the leading electronic medical records companies are safeguarding patient data in the age of electronification/digitization of patient records and the interoperability between providers and systems.

I can offer up a venue. Verizon offers up a portfolio of solutions through both our own IP and through an extensive partner portfolio. We go to market in these focus areas
    (Increasing Access to Care)
(Making Inforamtion Security and Compliance Easier) (Improving Availability of Information) (Planning for Operations Continuity) (Mobilizing and Extending the Healthcare Ecosystem)

Let's be innovative and skip into to the land of heresy : Why shouldn't patients have access to their health data ? Who is more interested in their health than they themselves ? Will doctors spend more time on a patient than the patient will himself ?
With the release of data, new tools can be developed that help patients analyze their condition.

I didn't notice this meetup was available to rsvp for :(. I will lean on a wall, stand in the back, where ever there is space(trust me I'm skinny). I just want an opportunity to network with others who are exploring ways to provide actionable insight on health data, as well as, get feedback on my product and vision. A consideration to my request is all I ask.
