VP, Strategic Development at SarahCare. I bring my architectural and urban design background to the problems of how technology systems are experienced, used, and change social interactions.

What topic would you like to see discussed at the New York Healthcare Meetups?

Many technology companies are focused on self-management when it comes to better health but have little recognition of the role of professional and family caregivers. I would like to discussions about technology will affect care where an entire "care team" beyond the patient and physician is involved (from therapists to a daughter in law caregiver to a pharmacist)

Tell us about your view and contributions (past, present or future) to healthcare innovation

Healthcare technology too often operates at the highly abstract level of public health when it should be focus on patient experience and how healthcare professionals make clinical decisions.

What is your company and what do they do. What is your role there?

Sarah Adult Day Services Inc. (http://sarahcare.com) is a comprehensive provider of senior care solutions to allow seniors to age well, live at home, and remain with their families. My focus currently is on an IoT monitoring solution to integrate care across multiple environments and healthcare specialities.

What are your goals for joining this group and how can we help you achieve them?

I am looking for a deeper understanding of the available technologies -- their capabilities, how they work, etc. and to learn from others who are dealing with or have dealt with the same challenges that I am struggling with in my work.

This group is dedicated to advancing innovations that focus on improving patient care with the active involvement of Patients, Physicians, Nurses, Administrators, Engineers, and even Lawyers. If your interest is in improving the practice and performance of medicine, than this is the meetup for you.

Borne of the Health 2.0 international movement, Eugene Borukovich started the NYC chapter in 2008. Our chapter has since grown to become the largest healthcare innovation focused meetup in the world, running events that focus on specific topics such as the impact of social media in Healthcare or our Startup pitch contest called "Pitch Yourself into the Shark Tank." The investments, partnerships and collaborations that have come from this meetup are myriad, as we purposely foster the genesis, growth and development of innovative technology companies. A few of the companies that have presented: Phreesia, Zweena, ZocDoc, HelloHealth, YourNurseIsOn, DrChrono, ComScore, HealthLeap, MyHealthExperience, Healthrageous, WellApps, and a few dozen others.

Be like me, come with an idea, leave with a company. I run this group as my way of saying thanks for helping my concept get from the drawing board to over 250,000 searches for care and the attention of Patients, Physicians, Hospitals, Employers, and VCs across the country with our new healthcare marketplace.

...but this isn't about me, it is what over 1,250 healthcare innovators can do for healthcare.
