Tell us about your view and contributions (past, present or future) to healthcare innovation
Have a long and unique perspective from having uncovered fraud both financial and FDA related in a pharma company. Been involved in the development and the bringing to market diagnostic, drug and devices in the business and financial. Advised individuals (and companies) as to risks relating to time, talent and technology. Understand the issues relating to timely and relevant information that is necessary to spur healthcare innovation. Currently working with IT systems, phase 1,11,111 drug companies, proof of concept and device companies. Goal is to provide access of these entities and individuals to the talent necessary for success. Getting acceptance of change within a system both here and abroad for healthcare innovation is a difficult process. The movie MoneyBall is an example of how change in healthcare can happen. Success is when good information is applied to situations where "this is the way it has always been done".Talent & the access to opportunity can be a game changer.
What is your company and what do they do. What is your role there?
John R. Lieberman has dedicated his practice for over 30 years to assisting the owners of closely-held companies with their business and tax planning and risk management. He has extensive experience in a broad range of industries. His clientele range from the "New Media" to traditional brick and mortar companies, both private and public. Mr. Lieberman has in the past performed duties analogous of a chief financial officer at publicly traded companies. The companies were in the bio-tech/pharmaceutical industries. These duties have included implementing financial controls, meeting with security regulators and presenting to underwriters and investment groups. He has evaluated and worked on private placements of publicly traded securities and private placements prior to an IPO.
