Where: (A location has not been chosen yet.)
Clay Ewing will be giving us a demonstration of his new board game:
How do we inform people that are ignorant of their lack of knowledge?
Even though Congress passed a health care bill, the price of care is
still an issue that needs to be addressed. By embedding real world
cost information into a game, we can teach people to be more informed
consumers. Hustlin' Health Care is a board game that aims to put
Players in the role of an insurance company, flipping their
perspective of the industry while mixing in real world claims data.
Alex Faire will be leading a discussion about his idea for engaging healthcare providers to address the following ideas:
Assemble 5-7 providers and pose 5 questions in a panel format.
Qs:
1. Internet 1.0 - How has the availability of online medical information affected your practice?
2. Patient Prosumers - What is your response to the patient who has learned a great deal of information about their possible or actual conditions - when they are right, and when they are wrong?
3. EHRs and Meaningful Use - Have you implemented an EHR and how has it changed the way you practice medicine? Has it affected follow-up or overal patient care? Do you integrate with online PHRs like HealthVault or Google Health?
4. HCR - How has the health care reform bill changed the way you think about the future of medicine?
5. The Future and How You Fit In - Where do you see the evolution of patient care going and how do you intend to be a part of it?
