Good morning: I am delighted to announce that our May 26 meeting agenda has become richer and deeper than what I announced earlier. We are now slated to host three terrific presenters, including a pre-launch preview. In addition to Clay Ewings demonstration of his new board game, we will also be learning about FairCare and WhizRx:
See below, and please spread the word to your colleagues that this is a meeting you will not want to miss!

Sneak Peak at FairCareMD.com!

Anybody who has ever looked at an EOB knows the gross disparity between what self-pays pay for care and what the big insurance companies do. This is fair to neither Doctors nor Patients. The fact is that People who are paying directly for their care are charged 2-7 times more than big insurance companies pay for the same services. With the recession and the increase in High Deductible and HSA health plans, the proportion of people paying for a significant portion of their own care has risen to 36% of the population. This has increased patient consumerism but there is no good healthcare shopping system for self-pays and it is hard for people to get a fair price for care.

Simultaneously, Doctors are reducing the number of plans they participate with and are even starting to opt out of Medicare in larger numbers. Their problem is that they need a way to acquire new patients to replace being “in the book.”

FairCareMD.com was created to solve these related problems. FairCareMD.com is an online marketplace that allows Doctors and Patients to meet and agree on services and prices that are fair to both.

On May 31st, FairCareMD.com will allow the public to try out their new solution for direct healthcare contracting. Come to the NYC Health 2.0 Meetup on May 26th if you would like a sneak peek at the system.

Doctor Signup is open on May 15th so please forward this notice to any Healthcare Providers you believe will want to become FairCareMDs. Thanks!

Best Regards,
Alex Fair
